

Mr. Richard Bloom is a recognised specialist plastic surgeon who has successfully completed the training program of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in plastic surgery.
All specialists that have completed the training have met the following requirements:
Mr. Bloom commenced his medical training at Monash University, Melbourne in 1987, graduating with honors in 1992. His residency and basic surgical training was completed at the Alfred Hospital, Prahran. He was accepted into the plastic surgery training program in 1999, and successfully attained his surgical fellowship in plastic surgery in 2002. His training involved rotations to all of the major plastic surgery centres in Melbourne: The Alfred, St Vincents, The Royal Children’s Hospital and The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Following his fellowship Mr. Bloom undertook further training in Hand surgery at the Pulvertaft Hand Centre in Derby UK, as well as cosmetic surgery in San Francisco prior to commencing work as a plastic surgeon in Melbourne in 2003.
Mr. Bloom holds public hospital appointments at the Alfred Hospital, where he is part of the Victorian Melanoma Service and the Northern Hospital, where he is the supervisor of plastic surgery training.
Mr. Bloom is an active member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons as well as the Australasian society of aesthetic plastic surgeons.
