These are an excellent and simple treatment suitable for some wrinkles, especially those of the forehead between the eyebrows, and crows' feet. The treatment involves a small injection to the area. It works by temporarily paralysing the small facial muscles which cause the wrinkles to form. After several months, the muscle will recover activity and the wrinkle will recur, thus repeated treatment will be necessary.
No dressings are needed, and bruising is uncommon. The area is often a little sore for a day or two. It can take up to 14 days for the full effect to be seen, and the changes will be apparent for up to 3 months.
